Teaching in Nepal

Teaching in Nepal

In summer 2014 I volunteered as an English teacher at a secondary school in Kathmandu, Nepal. I had just finished my final exams at high school and whilst it was demanding to teach classes of up to fifty pupils of varying abilities and backgrounds it was also hugely rewarding. After my voluntary work, I travelled around the country solo and gained some incredible experiences, including trekking in the Himalayas, visiting monasteries that were thousands of years old, hiking in rainforests in search of tigers and rhinos, participating in Nepal’s cow festival, visiting the birthplace of Buddha, and meeting Tibetan refugees.
